Job summary

Riot Games in Los Angeles is seeking a Principal Software Engineer for the AI Enablement team to lead key features and set high engineering standards. You will embed with Riot partners to accelerate AI adoption, build production-ready integrations, and mentor engineers through hands-on collaboration.

You will shape AI strategy across engines and tools, develop foundations and APIs, and ensure secure, scalable implementations.

Qualifications

• BS in CS or equivalent experience.
• 8–12 years of software engineering experience.
• Deep programming in C++ and at least one other language.
• Shipped AAA game or high-concurrency live service.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical execution of integrating modern AI practices into engines, tools, and pipelines.
• Deploy onto partner teams to break down AI implementation problems and deliver scalable solutions.
• Mentor embedded engineers through pair programming and technical reviews with smooth handoffs.
• Share engineering best practices, guardrails, and performance standards for AI usage.
• Build foundations, APIs, or middleware to connect AI research with practical development.
• Navigate ambiguities, communicate trade-offs, and build consensus among leadership.
