Job summary

Ariel Partners in New York seeks an experienced IT professional to design and maintain enterprise Unix/Linux infrastructure. You will develop system designs, configure databases, servers, storage, and networks, and ensure security and resiliency across multiple platforms.

Collaborate with managers, programmers, and support staff to plan implementations, test systems, generate documentation, and implement high-availability environments for critical enterprise applications.

Qualifications

• 4+ years' experience building highly available and scalable Linux/containerized infrastructures.
• Experience managing and maintaining UNIX systems.
• Proven ability to create technical and user documentation.
• Experience designing 3-tier infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Develop system design specifications.
• Develops specifications for databases, networks, storage and software configurations.
• Develops, compiles, maintains and documents configurations of databases and servers.
• Develops operation and installation procedures for hardware, network, security, storage and software.
• Develops detailed systems operations designs.
• Work with staff to plan application implementation, enhancements and changes.
• Design reports, audit trails/logs, security mechanisms.
• Occasionally contact customers to clarify feature intent or resolve problems.
• Tests applications and systems and integrates system modules.
• Provide assistance to technical support staff when needed.
• Create, test and maintain highly available environments for enterprise systems resiliency.
• Develop guidelines and upgrade techniques of new operational procedures for support of databases, hardware systems, operating systems software, network systems software, security and client-server systems.
• Develop system documentation.
• Develops structured diagrams for specifications of databases, networks, security or storage programs.
• Develops documents for general design of solutions meeting system and security requirements.
