Anticipated Recruitment Range: Salary may be outside of this range based on budget, UNC salary policies, and candidate qualifications. Range: $51,285 - $60,000.

Organizational Unit Overview: Founded in 1907, ECU is a high research activity doctoral university, the only public university in North Carolina with a dental school, medical school, and college of engineering and technology. Academic Affairs, led by the Provost, oversees colleges, schools, libraries, and support units, fostering academic excellence. The Office of Innovation and Engagement, led by the Chief Innovation and Engagement Officer, collaborates across departments to enhance the university’s economic and community impact through partnerships, innovation, and workforce development initiatives.

Job Duties:

This position supports the Continuing and Professional Education (CPE) unit within the Office of Innovation and Engagement, reporting to the director of CPE. Responsibilities include program development and management, support services, and daily operations to increase enrollment and revenue, and support adult learners. The role requires excellent communication, problem-solving, independence, and interpersonal skills, along with knowledge of ECU policies and customer service excellence. Tasks include managing communications, program scheduling, instructor coordination, program administration, and event support. Occasional evening, weekend, and overnight travel may be required.

The position’s specific duties include:

  • Communication & Marketing (15%): Manage websites and social media, develop communication materials, and cultivate relationships.
  • Consultation (20%): Manage program scheduling, identify instructors, and coordinate course design and approval.
  • Leadership (20%): Develop program plans, provide strategic reporting, and promote offerings.
  • Program Administration (45%): Plan and implement programs, coordinate logistics, manage enrollment and payments, support online courses, and conduct needs assessments.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and one year of related experience or equivalent training/experience from an accredited institution.

License/Certification: None required.

Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in adult education, instructional technology, or curriculum design; two years of program management experience; familiarity with continuing education programs; strong management, communication, and computer skills.
