Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, English, Finance, Healthcare or a related field required.
• Seven (7) years of experience in compliance, legal, or regulatory affairs.

Responsibilities

• Oversees and documents the institutional compliance program at UAB, promoting adherence to federal, state, and local regulations, as well as University shared values and policies.
• Reports to the Chief Risk & Compliance Officer and is responsible for programmatic activities that advance the compliance program vision and strategy.
• Develops, implements, and maintains an effective compliance and ethics program in accordance with the Federal Sentencing Guidelines and DOJ guidance; evaluates effectiveness and promotes an ethical culture.
• Conducts risk assessments and compliance audits; monitors and reports on effectiveness to senior management; supports executive and administrative committees.
• Develops and delivers compliance training programs for faculty, staff, and students; ensures all university community members are informed of policies.
• Serves as Campus Designee for policymaking and governance processes; collaborates with departments to communicate and implement policies.
• Leads investigations into compliance violations and ethical breaches; develops corrective action plans to prevent recurrence.
• Maintains records of compliance activities and investigations; presents regular reports to senior management.
