Job summary

UAB seeks a Senior Compliance & Ethics professional to develop, implement, and maintain an enterprise-wide compliance program aligned with federal guidelines and DOJ guidance. You will lead risk assessments, audits, training, and policy governance while promoting ethical conduct and regulatory compliance across the university community.

The role collaborates with senior leaders, conducts investigations when needed, and ensures documentation and reporting to executive leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, English, Finance, Healthcare or related field with 7+ years in compliance, legal, or regulatory affairs.
• Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
• Must be Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) or CCEP or CRC within first 2 years.
• Eligible to sit for CHRC if working with academic medical schools.

Responsibilities

• Develops, implements, and maintains an effective compliance program per federal guidelines.
• Conducts risk assessments and audits; reports to senior management.
• Develops and delivers training for faculty, staff, and students.
• Acts as Campus Designee for policy governance and cross-department collaboration.
• Leads investigations and recommends corrective actions.
• Maintains records and presents reports to leadership.
