Job summary

Freedom First in Vinton, VA is seeking a Full-Time Universalist (Teller) to join our Credit Union team. Based at our Vinton location, you will progress from teller transactions and member service to account opening, lending, and other relationship-based financial services.

You will develop through training to provide comprehensive financial guidance and build lasting member relationships. The role emphasizes personalized service, accuracy in processing transactions, and educating members on

Qualifications

Experience: 1-3 years in banking, financial services, customer service, or similar experience.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to motivate, influence, and educate members.
Demonstrated proficiency in computer and administrative support systems.
Ability to read and interpret financial documents.

Responsibilities

Customer Service & Sales (40%): Deliver outstanding service by assessing member needs, educating members on available products and services, and recommending appropriate financial solutions to enhance their banking experience.
Transactions & Problem Solving (35%): Assist members with deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, and account inquiries; provide accurate information and resolve issues promptly.
Cash Handling (20%): Balance a cash drawer; receive, process, and balance daily financial transactions; maintain accuracy and compliance with policies.
Branch Operations (5%): Support opening/closing procedures and assist with branch balancing.
