FAIRWINDS Credit Union in Orlando is hiring a Member Service Specialist (Universal Banker) at the Waterford Lakes branch to help members open accounts, process transactions, and take meaningful steps toward financial freedom.

This role blends traditional banking with a consultative approach, focusing on education, empowerment, and building long‑term relationships by guiding deposits, loans, investments, and digital tools that fit each member’s goals.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in member-facing banking roles preferred.
• Lending experience in a financial institution is required.

Responsibilities

• Handle teller and platform transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Open new accounts and recommend suitable products.
• Build trust through consultative conversations and relationships.
• Recommend deposits, loans, investments, and digital tools.
• Assist members with lending solutions for milestones.
• Provide prompt support for account maintenance and service needs.
• Promote self-service tools and ensure branch procedures are followed.

By understanding each member's unique situation, you will help uncover opportunities, provide guidance, and deliver solutions that move them closer to financial freedom.

Your Role in Our Mission

• Serve as the go-to resource for members by handling all teller and platform transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Open new accounts and recommend relevant products and services based on members' unique financial needs and goals.
• Build trust and deepen relationships through consultative conversations that support members on their journey to Financial Freedom.
• Recommend deposit accounts, loans, investment and insurance products, and digital banking tools that align with members' financial goals and circumstances.
• Help members identify lending solutions that support important life milestones through inbound, outbound, and referral-based conversations.
• Deliver prompt support for service-related needs such as account maintenance and problem resolution.
• Promote and educate members on self-service tools including online banking, mobile apps, and ATMs.
• Serve as a keyholder when needed and support operational procedures including branch opening/closing and negotiable item custody.
• Maintain compliance with policies, procedures, and security protocols while supporting the branch team in achieving goals.

What Makes You a Great Fit

• Demonstrated success in a member-facing role.
• Previous banking experience required.
• Previous lending experience in a financial institution required.
• Passion for helping people improve their financial well-being and achieve meaningful financial goals.
• You lead with care and know how to listen and respond to members' needs.
• Comfortable navigating both transactional and consultative responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
• Confident initiating financial conversations, uncovering member goals, educating members on available solutions, and making thoughtful recommendations that support long-term financial wellness.
• Proven track record of achieving individual and/or branch goals.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Able to adapt quickly and take initiative to serve where you're most needed.
