Job summary

Farmers National Bank of Canfield is seeking a full-time Teller to support daily branch operations, manage cash drawers, and process transactions including savings, checking, loan payments, and safe deposit box payments. The role requires accuracy, teamwork, and strong customer service.

You will balance cash drawers daily, handle checks, money orders, and notary duties where credentialed, and assist with opening new accounts and cross-selling bank products.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 1 year retail banking experience with cash handling.
• Previous supervisory and sales experience is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Run a teller cash drawer to cover the daily needs of the branch staffing model.
• Exercise authority to sign official checks, not to exceed $50,000 and complete teller overrides.
• Accept and process transactions: savings, checking, and holiday savings accounts, loan payments, safe deposit box rental payments, tax deposits, and withdrawals.
• Accept checks for cashing according to bank procedures.
• Sell money orders, official checks, and collect applicable fees.
• Balance teller cash drawers daily and resolve discrepancies with supervisor guidance.
• Maintain a professional teller area in line with bank policies and dress code.
• Handle vault cash under dual control and coordinate cash orders/shipments.
• Secure negotiable instruments and safe deposit box records; assist with rentals.
• Enforce dual control policies across staff; open/close branches following procedures.
• Know daily branch, vault, and ATM operations; support sales referrals and coaching.
• Make outbound sales calls, open new accounts, and perform account maintenance.
• Prepare new account documents accurately and timely; serve as Notary if credentialed.
• Complete weekly, monthly, and quarterly operational duties; comply with BSA and AML training.
• Maintain regular, predictable attendance and perform other duties as assigned.
