The position supports growth in branch deposits and client retention, acts as a mentor to less experienced staff, and requires knowledge of banking products and services. Local community focus applies.

Qualifications

• Two+ years of banking/financial services experience.
• Associate or bachelor's degree, or banking coursework preferred.
• Proficiency with core banking systems and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Open and service consumer and business deposit accounts, including entity accounts and trusts.
• Process complex transactions and requests, including wires, stop payments, and disputes.
• Support clients with digital banking, debit card, and account maintenance escalations.
• Serve as an escalation point for client service matters within authority.
• Identify and refer opportunities for lending, mortgage, and treasury management.
• Contribute to branch deposit growth, client retention, and household expansion goals.
• Complete business account onboarding, including entity and beneficial ownership documentation.
• Maintain knowledge of the Bank's full product and service set.

Position Overview

Tanager Bank is seeking a client-focused and motivated Universal Banker II to join our growing team. This position plays an essential role in delivering exceptional customer service. The Universal Banker II is an experienced relationship banker who opens and services consumer and business deposit accounts, handles complex transactions and service requests, and contributes directly to branch deposit growth and client retention. This position is a working resource to Universal Banker I colleagues and demonstrates advanced knowledge of Bank products and services.

Key Responsibilities Client Service and Transactions

• Open and service consumer and business deposit accounts, including entity accounts and trusts.
• Process complex transactions and requests, including wires, stop payments, and disputes.
• Support clients with digital banking, debit card, and account maintenance escalations.
• Serve as an escalation point for client service matters within established authority.

Deposit Services and Growth

• Identify and refer opportunities for lending, mortgage, and treasury management.
• Contribute to branch deposit growth, client retention, and household expansion goals.
• Complete business account onboarding, including entity and beneficial ownership documentation.
• Maintain current working knowledge of the Bank's full product and service set. Operations, Risk, and Compliance

Operations, Risk, and Compliance

• Support branch balancing, settlement, and daily operational routines.
• Apply BSA, AML, OFAC, and CIP requirements at account opening and in ongoing monitoring.
• Assist with branch audits, operational reviews, and examination requests.
• Train and mentor Universal Banker I employees on products, systems, and procedures.

Development and Community

• Participate in community outreach and branch business development activities.
• Complete assigned regulatory, compliance, and product training.
• Support branch coverage across markets as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate or bachelor's degree, or banking coursework, preferred.

Experience

• Two or more years of banking or financial services experience.

Skills

• Advanced client service and relationship management.
• Sound judgment applying Bank policy to non-routine situations.
• Ability to coach and support less experienced team members.
• Consultative identification of client needs and referral opportunities.

Technical Proficiency

• Proficiency with core banking systems, digital banking platforms, and Microsoft Office.
• Working knowledge of deposit documentation for consumer and business entities.
