Job summary

Farmers National Banc Corp. in Kentucky is seeking a teller to open, maintain and close customer accounts, while processing teller transactions and generating referrals for new business opportunities. You will provide excellent customer service in a fast-paced branch environment.

You will balance cash drawers, assist in cross-selling bank products, and support the branch team in meeting daily sales goals. If credentialed, you may serve as a Notary.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or General Education degree (GED).
• Minimum of one (1) year retail banking experience to include cash handling.
• Previous supervisory and sales experience are highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Run a teller cash drawer to cover the daily needs of the branch staffing model.
• Exercise authority to sign official checks, not to exceed $50,000 and complete teller overrides.
• Accept and process savings, checking, and holiday savings accounts, loan payments, safe deposit box rental payments, tax deposits, and withdrawals.
• Accept checks for cashing according to bank procedures.
• Sell money orders, official checks, and collect applicable fees.
• Balance daily and resolve discrepancies with supervisor involvement when required.
• Create a work environment conducive to superior customer service and teamwork.
• Maintain professional appearance of teller area and staff per bank policy.
• Handle vault cash under dual control including vault transactions and audits.
• Secure negotiable instruments and records daily; assist with safe deposit boxes as needed.
• Ensure dual control policies are known and followed by all staff.
• Open and close the branch following security procedures.
• Maintain knowledge of daily branch, vault, and ATM operations.
• Achieve personal sales referral goals and coach tellers to meet theirs.
• Coordinate with branch manager on sales and service operations.
• Educate staff on policy changes and new product knowledge.
• Exercise sound judgment in resolving client and employee issues.
• Maintain knowledge of bank products and cross-sell services.
• Make outbound sales calls to current and prospective clients.
• Open new accounts, complete maintenance, cross-sell products and discuss services.
• Prepare new account documents accurately and timely.
• Serve as a Notary if credentialed.
• Complete weekly, monthly, and quarterly operational duties per policy.
• Complete mandatory training including BSA and Anti-Money Laundering procedures.
