Job summary

First Merchants Bank is seeking a Customer Relationship Representative (Universal Banker) to blend sales and service in our banking center. You will drive client satisfaction by processing transactions, opening accounts, and guiding customers toward digital banking solutions.

You will also identify opportunities for cross-selling while maintaining accurate client records. The role emphasizes teamwork, adherence to regulatory requirements, and achievement of personal and branch goals.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year banking, sales, or related experience.
• S.A.F.E Act registration required or to be obtained within 3 months of hire.
• Notary Public designation ability.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of bank products/services across all lines of business.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality customer service by handling a wide range of banking needs in a fast-paced environment.
• Engage clients to understand financial needs and recommend products, services, and digital tools.
• Process deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, check cashing, and other daily transactions.
• Open new accounts and process loan applications for clients.
• Educate clients on electronic banking products during onboarding and account opening.
• Document client interactions and incentive plan activity using CRM tools.
• Support branch operations with audits, balancing, and compliance with policies.
