Job description

Join to apply for the Universal Banker role at Farmers National Banc Corp.

Responsible for providing superior customer service to clients by processing transactions, recognizing client needs, and recommending appropriate products and services. Open, maintain, and close all types of transactions and deposit accounts efficiently. Direct the daily work of tellers within the office and ensure orderly operations of teller staff and the vault. Generate referrals and coach tellers on sales and referral techniques.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to:
  1. Strong knowledge of all bank products and services, including features and benefits. Present options that best fit client needs.
  2. Participate in referral and sales programs, campaigns, and training to meet sales goals.
  3. Coordinate with Branch Manager regarding sales and service operations.
  4. Coach tellers to meet sales referral goals and ensure excellent customer service.
  5. Prepare documents for opening and maintaining accounts based on client needs.
  6. Assist with loan questions and processes, and prepare clients for the loan application process.
  7. Manage IRA Certificates, including renewals and transactions.
  8. Handle Certificates of Deposit, including opening, redeeming, and interest calculations.
  9. Assist with Safe Deposit Box rentals, ensuring proper security and recordkeeping.
  10. Balance vault cash, ATM, and branch totals, and perform monthly teller cash audits.
  11. Show empathy and resolve customer requests and complaints satisfactorily.
  12. Ensure tellers balance daily and report discrepancies.
  13. Monitor lobby activity to service customers efficiently.
  14. Maintain knowledge of competitors’ products and promotions.
  15. Follow dual control policies and security procedures.
  16. Authority to open/close branch, sign official checks and CDs up to $50,000, and override teller systems.
  17. Make outbound sales calls and run a teller window as needed.
  18. Adjust work schedule to meet branch staffing needs.
  19. Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE
  1. High School diploma or GED; college degree preferred.
  2. At least two years of retail banking experience as a teller or in customer contact/sales.
  3. Experience opening accounts, sales, and operations preferred.
  4. Supervisory and sales experience highly preferred.
OTHER SKILLS And ABILITIES
  1. Ability to motivate and lead a team, with involvement in referral programs.
  2. Excellent judgment, decision-making, time management, and organizational skills.
  3. Professional appearance and confidentiality.
  4. Strong communication skills for staff education and customer interaction.
  5. Knowledge of branch, vault, and ATM operations.
  6. Sound judgment in resolving client and employee issues.
