Job summary

Pratt Industries in Texas is seeking a Unitizer Operator to manage unitizing and related equipment, including setup, operation, and cleanup, while ensuring accurate packaging and efficient workflow.

You will follow safety procedures, operate forklift when needed, scan barcodes, and complete production and quality reports. A high school diploma or GED is required; prior corrugated industry experience and forklift experience preferred; full-time role with benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 6 months experience in the Press or Finishing Department preferred.
• Prior work experience as a forklift operator preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate the unitizer and related equipment with proper setup and workflow.
• Ensure proper placement of unit tags and cover sheets and correct stacking patterns.
• Scan barcodes on units going through the unitizer.
• Create neat units with the correct number of bands on each unit.
• Maximize equipment utilization by running at approved capacity and speed.
• Complete required reports accurately and on time (Production Data, Machine Status, Safety Data, Quality Data).
• Maintain correct unit quantities and pull excess scrap.
• Operate forklift safely when needed and report maintenance needs.
