Job summary

Parkland Health is seeking a Unit Technician to coordinate patient care and clerical tasks on the unit. The role includes phlebotomy, drawing labs, and serving as the primary contact for unit staff and patients.

You will perform patient care activities under the direction of a Registered Nurse and ensure accurate documentation, while maintaining infection control and patient-centered care practices.

Qualifications

• Must have completed or hold one of the listed education credentials.
• One year acute care hospital experience.
• Heartsaver CPR within 90 days of hire and/or placement.
• Able to perform phlebotomy and patient care tasks as directed.
• Ability to communicate with multiple departments and families.

Responsibilities

• Performs phlebotomy tasks and draws labs for the unit.
• Coordinates patient care and clerical needs as the primary unit contact.
• Responds to information requests from staff, patients, and families.
• Performs basic patient care activities under RN supervision.
• Maintains accurate patient records and charts.
