Job summary

Parkland Health seeks a Unit Technician to coordinate patient care and clerical tasks as the unit's primary contact. You will perform phlebotomy draws and prepare them for testing, while supporting nurses, doctors, patients and families.

You will also handle basic hygiene care, injections, vital signs and range of motion exercises under supervision, ensuring accurate records and timely communication within the unit.

Qualifications

• Must have completed or hold one of the listed healthcare trainings.

Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy tasks and draw labs for the unit.
• Coordinate patient care and clerical needs as the primary contact for the unit.
• Assist and respond to information requests from doctors, nurses, patients and families.
• Provide basic hygiene care, injections, venipunctures, and routine treatments under RN supervision.
• Transport meals and assist with patient mobility.
• Maintain accurate patient records and generate reports for unit decisions.
• Ensure infection prevention and environmental care standards.
