Job summary

Parkland Health is seeking a Unit Technician to support patient care and administrative needs on the unit. You will act as the primary contact for the unit, perform phlebotomy and lab prep tasks, and assist doctors, nurses, patients, and families with information requests to ensure smooth unit operations.

You will also handle charting, patient transfers, and supply management under RN supervision, while maintaining patient-centered care and accurate records across shifts.

Qualifications

• Must complete or hold one of the listed educational paths.
• One year of acute care hospital experience is required.
• CPR (Heartsaver) within 90 days of hire is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy tasks and lab draws for the unit.
• Coordinate patient care as the primary unit contact.
• Assist clinicians and respond to information requests from staff and families.
• Maintain patient records and unit logs with accurate data entry.
• Admit, transfer, and discharge patients and manage unit supplies.
• Support infection control and quality assurance practices.
