Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required or better.
• Medical terminology course preferred.
• 1 year Medical Assistant or Nursing Assistant experience preferred.
• Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients upon admission and identify them by name and date of birth.
• Act as receptionist for hospital staff and visitors.
• Initiate, receive, and deliver telephone messages related to unit activities.
• Maintain patients' charts on assigned units.
• Order and maintain adequate supply levels on unit.
• Answer telemetry emergency phone and manage responsibilities.
• File telemetry strips in the designated location.
• Set up assignments in Responder system and respond to call lights.
• Support patient satisfaction, throughput, and hospital capacity.
• Other duties as assigned.
