Job summary

HCA Houston Healthcare Kingwood is seeking a Unit Secretary for PRN shifts to help deliver patient-centered care in a fast-paced hospital setting. You will create a welcoming, organized space, communicate clearly with patients, families, and the care team, and keep records and are involved in daily operations with attention to detail.

This role emphasizes compassionate communication, accuracy in record-keeping, and teamwork to ensure smooth unit operations and high-quality patient experiences.

Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required or must be obtained prior to start.
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date.

Responsibilities

• Greet and guide patients and visitors with warmth and professionalism.
• Maintain patient records accurately and enter physician orders.
• Communicate between incoming calls and care team promptly and clearly.
• Keep the environment clean, organized, and well-stocked for safety and comfort.
• Take initiative to support daily operations and promote teamwork.

• Maintaining patient records accurately, entering physician orders, and protecting patient information
• Handling all communications between incoming calls and care team members promptly and clearly to keep the unit connected
• Keeping the environment clean, organized, and well-stocked to promote safety and comfort
• Taking initiative to solve challenges, support daily operations, and foster a culture of respect and teamwork

What qualifications you will need:

• Basic Cardiac Life Support
