HCA Florida West Hospital seeks an Unit Secretary for the Emergency Room to help ensure a welcoming, organized space for patients and families. You will use clear, compassionate communication and attention to detail to support daily ER operations and care coordination.

Responsibilities include greeting patients, managing records and orders, and maintaining a clean, well-stocked environment. The role emphasizes teamwork and patient-centered care across shifts.

Qualifications

• Basic Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.

Your responsibilities will include

• Greeting and guiding patients and visitors with warmth and professionalism, offering updates, and ensuring they feel informed and supported
• Maintaining patient records accurately, entering physician orders, and protecting patient information
• Handling all communications between incoming calls and care team members promptly and clearly to keep the unit connected
• Keeping the environment clean, organized, and well-stocked to promote safety and comfort
• Taking initiative to solve challenges, support daily operations, and foster a culture of respect and teamwork

What qualifications you will need:

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
