Job summary

Medical City Decatur, part of HCA Healthcare, offers a PRN Unit Secretary role on the Med Surg unit. Join a nationally leading provider and support a patient‑centered team in a fast‑paced environment.

You will greet patients and families, enter orders, maintain records, coordinate care team communications, and help keep the unit clean, stocked and organized. Required: Basic Life Support within 30 days and a High School diploma or GED; no travel and no prior experience required.

Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support within 30 days of employment start date.
• High School Graduate / GED.

Responsibilities

• Greeting and guiding patients and visitors with warmth and professionalism, offering updates, and ensuring they feel informed and supported
• Maintaining patient records accurately, entering physician orders, and protecting patient information
• Handling all communications between incoming calls and care team members promptly and clearly to keep the unit connected
• Keeping the environment clean, organized, and well-stocked to promote safety and comfort
• Taking initiative to solve challenges, support daily operations, and foster a culture of respect and teamwork

Your responsibilities will include:

What qualifications you will need:
