Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a patient care assistant to support patients with daily living activities and documentation in Evansville, IN. You will assist with movement, monitor changes, and coordinate with nursing staff to ensure patient comfort and safety.

Responsibilities include discharge paperwork, chart maintenance, Teletracking updates, and equipment checks. Weekend rotations apply; BLS certification is preferred within the first month of hire.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider Certification preferred or required within 1 month of hire.
• Proven ability to support patients and document care accurately.
• Experience in a hospital or clinical environment is a plus.

Job description

• Assist patients with personal care and daily living activities
• Guide and assist patients with movement and positioning
• Identify and report changes in patients' physical or emotional conditions to nursing staff
• Document patient care and observations promptly
• Maintain clean, orderly patient rooms and prepared medical equipment
• Complete discharge paperwork
• Schedule follow-up appointments
• Process work orders
• Answer the unit phone
• Create and break down charts
• Print S Bars for admissions
• Fax paperwork for facilities and make packets
• Obtain records from other facilities
• Update Teletracking
• Schedule MCT monitors
• Check refrigerator and blanket warmer temperatures
• Check crash carts
• Clean break rooms, refrigerators, and microwaves
• Perform equipment/Voalte checks and maintain logs

Requirements

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required
• American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted
• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required
• Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable
• Full-time day shift availability, 8am-4:30pm, 5 days per week
• Weekend and holiday rotation required
