Prime Healthcare Saint Francis Hospital Infusion Center in Skokie, IL is seeking a Unit Secretary for the Infusion Center. This full-time day shift role supports the department by handling transcription, records preparation, and supply orders, enabling nurses to focus on patient care.

Required: High School Diploma or equivalent, BLS within 30 days, medical terminology, strong communication and customer service skills; MS Office proficiency; prior acute care/physician practice experience

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required or equivalent experience.
• BLS certification (ARC or AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
• Medical terminology preferred.
• Effective communication and customer service skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
• Previous experience in an acute care setting or physician practice preferred.

Responsabilités

• Transcribes physician orders from records with nursing sign-off when needed.
• Prepares and maintains patient records and documentation daily.
• Orders supplies for the unit and ensures charts and forms are complete.
• Assists nursing staff with duties involving indirect patient care.
• Facilitates department communications as needed.

Overview

Department: Infusion Center

Schedule: Full Time Days 8:30a-5p

Facility: Prime Healthcare Saint Francis Hospital Infusion Center

Location: Skokie, IL

Responsibilities

The Unit Secretary is directly accountable to the Director/Manager, and indirectly to the Charge Nurse, and/or House Supervisor. The Unit Secretary is an unlicensed person who performs indirect care in the department setting. Facilitates the communication needs of the department. Transcribes physician orders from records (in the absence of CPOE and EMR clinical documentation system) with notation and signature by nursing staff. Prepares and complies records patient records as appropriate for the unit. Orders supplies for the unit, prepares, and completes each patient’s chart for necessary forms needed daily. Able to assist nursing staff for duties involving indirect patient care.

Qualifications

1. High School Diploma or equivalent, or relevant experience required. 2. BLS certification (ARC or AHA) within 30 days and maintain current 3. Medical terminology preferred.4. A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $16.40 to $23.76.
