5 North: Hospitalists General Medicine/Observation Unit is a very fast‑paced environment seeing a wide range of patients such as chest pain with possible interventional needs, outpatient surgical procedures requiring minimal post‑operative monitoring, respiratory illnesses with low oxygen demand, and general medicine patients. The medical management of our Observation Patients is that all tests and procedures are completed within 24 hours, which creates such a fast‑paced environment. The most enjoyable part of caring for Observation Patients is that most patients are ambulatory and independent or with minimum assistance. If you are someone who likes something different every single day, this would be the best place for you!
This position is responsible for supporting the operations of the patient care unit by providing clerical duties and communications activities.
This position requires full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of Blessing Hospital. This position serves as a central communication person for assistance in coordination of a fast‑paced hospital unit, supporting patient care operations through effective communication, organization and clerical management.
Responsible for answering and directing calls and messages, collaboration with nursing staff, providers, and support staff on the day‑to‑day of patient flow, and additional tasks or projects as needed.
Demonstrates strong multitasking abilities, attention to detail, professionalism, and the ability to prioritize in a dynamic healthcare environment while contributing to efficient workflow resulting in positive patient experiences.
