Job Summary and Qualifications

The Unit Secretary contributes to high-quality, patient-centered care by performing clerical tasks, acting as a receptionist, and assisting the patient care team while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe environment.

Responsibilities include:

• Greeting patients and visitors, directing them, and informing them of wait times.
• Promoting a positive, customer-oriented demeanor.
• Performing secretarial tasks such as physician order entry, creating and organizing patient charts, and filing after discharge.
• Maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.
• Handling incoming calls and relaying messages.

Qualifications required:

• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of employment.
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certification within 30 days of employment.
