Job description

The Unit Secretary helps ensure effective communication, accurate records, and provides exceptional customer service to patients and visitors.

Some Specific Duties May Include..

• Answers phone and intercom promptly and courteously. Consistently delivers messages and patient requests to the appropriate staff in a timely manner.
• As the first point of contact for the unit, demonstrates excellent customer service skills and a friendly demeanor.
• Maintains medical records according to hospital policy.
• Assists in quality monitoring of chart documents to include only approved abbreviations, date, time and signature where required.
