Responsibilities

As a Unit Representative, a typical day might include the following:

• Welcoming patients, families, visitors, and physicians while providing exceptional customer service
• Answering telephones, call bells, and intercoms, directing requests to the appropriate team members
• Coordinating patient admissions, transfers, and discharges while maintaining accurate patient information
• Entering physician orders and updating patient records using electronic medical record systems
• Preparing, organizing, and maintaining reports and unit documentation.
• Supporting the daily operations of the nursing station by maintaining supplies and ensuring an organized work environment
• Collaborating with physicians, nurses, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to promote efficient workflows and positive patient experiences

To be considered for this position, candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent, along with previous clerical, administrative, or customer service experience. Strong communication, organizational, multitasking, and computer skills are essential, as is the ability to work effectively in a collaborative healthcare environment. Previous experience as a Unit Clerk, Unit Secretary, or in a hospital or medical office setting is preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology, electronic medical records, physician order entry, and healthcare documentation is also preferred. Full-Time Day from 5:30am-1:30pm Monday-Friday.
