Margate Health and Rehabilitation, located in Jefferson, North Carolina, is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our care team as Unit Manager/Unit Coordinator. Applicants must hold an unrestricted RN or LPN license and CPR certification.

The Unit Manager will plan, coordinate, provide and manage nursing care, education and services for residents, under the direction of the Director of Nursing.

Qualifications

• Unrestricted RN or LPN license required.
• Current CPR certification required.
• Experience in long-term care nursing preferred.
• Ability to lead nursing staff with compassion.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate nursing care on the unit, ensuring staff provide appropriate care.
• Provide safe and accurate medication-related interventions.
• Accurately transcribe and coordinate physician orders.
• Perform nursing assessments, notify physician of changes, and implement orders.
• Develop a care plan based on assessment and implement nursing care.
• Institute nursing interventions to stabilize residents and prevent complications.
• Supervise nurses, CMAs, and CNAs providing care.

Under the direction and supervision of the Director of Nursing, the Unit Manager will plan, coordinate, provide and manage nursing care, services, and health education to our residents.

This position requires leadership, patience, compassion, and a desire to care for the residents in a gentle and empathetic manner.Responsibilities may include:

• Coordinate the nursing care of residents on the unit, assuring all assigned staff provide appropriate care to them.
• Provide safe and accurate medication related interventions to residents.
• Accurately transcribe and coordinate the implementation of physician orders.
• Perform nursing assessments regarding the health status of residents. Notify the physician of changes in status and promptly implement and document new orders.
• Develop a plan of care based on assessment, implementing nursing care.
• Select and institute appropriate nursing interventions that might be required to stabilize a resident’s condition and /or prevent complications.
• Supervise the care/services provided by the nurses, Certified Medication Aides (CMAs), and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs).
