This position offers the chance to grow professionally while making a difference in the lives of residents and your care team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain effective communication with residents, families, physicians, interdisciplinary teams, and facility leadership to support care goals and address concerns.
  • Serve as the unit’s administrative authority during assigned shifts and act as a key decision‑maker in the absence of higher leadership (e.g., DON/ADON).
  • Collaborate with clinical and administrative leadership on performance improvement initiatives, quality assurance activities, and regulatory readiness.
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of resident care, staff activities, and other required records.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary care conferences and quality meetings to align unit practices with organizational goals.
  • Support onboarding, orientation, and evaluation of nursing staff, and contribute to staff performance appraisals.
  • Facilitate a safe, respectful, and compliance‑focused environment that supports resident well‑being and staff engagement.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Valid, unrestricted RN license in Connecticut.

  • Graduate of an accredited college nursing program.

  • Current CPR/BLS (or equivalent) certification as required by facility policy.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work well with residents, families, and the care team.

  • Effective organizational, analytical, and time‑management skills.

  • Compassionate, resident‑centered approach, with good organizational and time‑management skills.
