Job summary

Winchester Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is seeking a Unit Manager to oversee the Short-Term Rehabilitation unit, guiding nursing staff and coordinating interdisciplinary care to deliver high-quality resident outcomes.

You will supervise a team, ensure adherence to regulatory standards, and drive care plans from admission to discharge, fostering a resident-centered, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Current, active, and unrestricted Massachusetts RN license.
• Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
• Experience in short-term rehabilitation, skilled nursing, subacute rehab, or long-term care preferred.
• Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills.
• Knowledge of state and federal long-term care regulations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the Short-Term Rehabilitation unit.
• Supervise nursing staff to ensure high-quality resident care.
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, social workers, and other team members.
• Coordinate and implement individualized resident care plans.
• Monitor resident assessments, treatments, and outcomes.
• Ensure care follows facility protocols and nursing practices.
• Participate in admissions, discharges, and transitions.
• Ensure compliance with regulations.
• Provide leadership, mentoring, and support to staff.
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and performance monitoring.
• Communicate with residents, families, and team members.
• Promote a collaborative, resident-focused environment.
• Support staff development and best practices in nursing care.
