Job summary

Lawrence Rehabilitation Hospital is hiring a Unit Manager to lead nursing operations on an assigned unit and ensure residents receive safe, person-centered care. This full-time role supports a culture of Passion, Respect and Excellence within a 60-bed sub-acute/long-term care setting in New Jersey.

The Unit Manager will provide clinical leadership, oversee care delivery, and participate in policy development to uphold quality standards and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current NJ RN license.
• Valid BLS CPR certification required.
• Degree in nursing preferred.
• Minimum 5 years nursing experience.
• Minimum 2 years supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee resident care on the assigned unit.
• Coordinate care to optimize physical, mental, and psychosocial functioning.
• Ensure incident reports and follow-up communications.
• Participate in committees and programs as directed.
• Develop, implement and evaluate policies and procedures.
• Provide clinical leadership to nursing staff.
• Monitor care plans for quality and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for patient-centered care.

Responsibilities for Unit Manager:

• Assume full responsibility and accountability for resident care on the assigned nursing unit.
• Oversee and coordinate resident care to promote the highest possible level of physical, mental, and psychosocial functioning.
• Ensure timely and accurate incident reporting, with appropriate follow-up and communication to the Administrator and the Director of Nursing.
• Participate in facility committees and programs as directed by the Director of Nursing.
• Assist in the development, implementation, and evaluation of policies and procedures based on identified clinical and operational needs.
• Provide clinical leadership, guidance, and support to nursing staff on the unit.
• Monitor compliance with care plans, regulations, and quality standards to ensure optimal resident outcomes.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support resident-centered care and continuous improvement.

Qualifications for Unit Manager:

• Must possess a current, unencumbered active license to practice as an RN in the state of NJ.
• Valid BLS Certification (CPR) required.
• A nursing degree from an accredited college or university is preferred.
• Minimum of five (5) years of nursing experience required.
• Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience in a nursing care center, hospital, or other healthcare setting required.
