Job summary

Civic Center Health and Rehabilitation is seeking a Unit Manager (RN) to oversee daily clinical operations on a designated unit in Birmingham, AL. You will supervise nursing staff, ensure care plans are followed, and collaborate with the Director of Nursing to maintain high-quality resident care.

Qualified candidates hold an active RN license with at least two years of nursing experience; long-term care experience and prior leadership are preferred.

Qualifications

• Long-term care or skilled nursing experience preferred.
• Prior supervisory or leadership experience strongly preferred.
• Strong clinical assessment and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day clinical care and operations of assigned unit.
• Supervise, guide, and support nurses and nursing assistants.
• Ensure care plans are followed and updated as needed.
• Monitor resident conditions and communicate changes to physicians and families.
• Participate in care plan meetings and interdisciplinary collaboration.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and company regulations.
• Assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers.
• Support infection control practices and quality initiatives.
• Mentor and develop nursing staff to strengthen the clinical team.

Position Summary: Unit Manager ( RN )

The Unit Manager (RN) is responsible for overseeing

daily clinical operations of an assigned unit, supervising nursing staff, and ensuring residents receive exceptional, person-centered care. This role works closely with the Director of Nursing and interdisciplinary team to maintain regulatory compliance, support staff development, and promote positive resident outcomes.

Qualifications:

1. Current R.N. license by State required
2. Must have at least two years of nursing experience.
3. Previous long-term care or skilled nursing experience preferred
4. Prior supervisory or leadership experience strongly preferred
5. Strong clinical assessment and organizational skills
6. Ability to lead a team with professionalism and compassion
7. Excellent communication skills with staff, residents, and families

Key Responsibilities:
