Job summary

Northway Health and Rehabilitation LLC in Birmingham, AL is seeking a Unit Manager (RN) to oversee daily clinical operations on a designated unit, supervise nursing staff, and ensure residents receive exceptional, person-centered care.

You will collaborate with the Director of Nursing and interdisciplinary teams to maintain regulatory compliance, support staff development, and promote positive resident outcomes.

Qualifications

• Current RN license (state)
• At least two years of nursing experience
• Prior long-term care or skilled nursing experience preferred
• Prior supervisory or leadership experience strongly preferred
• Strong clinical assessment and organizational skills
• Ability to lead a team with professionalism and compassion
• Excellent communication with staff, residents, and families

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day clinical care and operations of your assigned unit
• Supervise, guide, and support nurses and nursing assistants
• Ensure care plans are followed and updated appropriately
• Monitor resident conditions and communicate changes to physicians and families
• Participate in care plan meetings and interdisciplinary team collaboration
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and company regulations
• Assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers
• Support infection control practices and quality assurance initiatives
• Mentor and develop nursing staff to promote a strong clinical team

1. Current R.N. license by State required


2. Must have at least two years of nursing experience.
