Job summary

Paycom - ATS is seeking a Unit Manager to coordinate 24-hour patient care on a designated unit. You will lead nursing personnel, interact with physicians, families, and staff to ensure safe, quality care.

The role requires strong clinical leadership, staffing oversight, and adherence to center policies. You will monitor patient status, participate in rounds, and support quality improvement initiatives while managing daily operations.

Qualifications

• Licensed nurse in good standing with Virginia's licensing authority.
• Previous nursing management or supervisory experience preferred.
• Current CPR Healthcare Provider certification.

Responsibilities

• Staffing: check daily schedule and assign licensed and non-licensed nurses.
• Assess patients regularly and report changes to physicians.
• Ensure nursing documentation is complete and timely.
• Keep the Director of Nursing informed of patient status and concerns.
• Communicate personnel concerns to leadership as needed.
• Round with physicians to relay patient information and orders.
• Review orders, labs, and medications for changes.
• Inform families about patient care and condition updates.
• Complete incident/accident reports and follow through on issues.
• Administer medications per orders and current standards.
• Assist with blood draws and IV therapy when necessary.
• Review medication records for accuracy.
• Update daily patient roster and care plans.
• Participate in patient care conferences and committees.
• Evaluate patient status and staffing at shift start.
• Perform rounds to assess staff performance.
• Verify inventory and condition of supplies and equipment.
• Review care plans and revise as indicated.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
