Freemont Yardley Search is seeking an experienced Unit Manager to lead Health & Safety in a large Tennessee manufacturing environment near Nashville. You will drive safety performance, ensure regulatory compliance, and develop EHS team members to build a strong safety culture across the operation.

You will partner with operations leadership, oversee audits and investigations, and support ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 programs while mentoring the site teams to reduce hazards and sustain continuous

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in safety, environmental, engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years of EHS experience in manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of safety regulations and compliance programs.
• Experience leading investigations, audits, and training.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Unit Manager to lead the Health & Safety function within a large manufacturing environment in the middle Tennessee area just outside of Nashville. This role is responsible for driving safety performance, ensuring regulatory compliance, developing EHS team members, and partnering with operations leadership to foster a strong safety culture.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and promote a proactive safety culture across the facility
• Manage, mentor, and develop Health & Safety team members
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations
• Oversee incident investigations, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Coordinate safety audits, inspections, training programs, and compliance reporting
• Support emergency response planning and environmental compliance activities
• Lead plant safety committees and drive accountability for safety resultsSupport ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems
• Partner closely with manufacturing and maintenance teams to identify and reduce workplace hazards

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Safety, Environmental, Engineering, or related field preferred
• 3+ years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment
• Strong knowledge of workplace safety regulations and compliance programs
• Experience leading investigations, audits, training, and safety improvement initiatives
