The New York City Mayor's Office of Management and Budget seeks a technical owner for the Asset Information Management System (AIMS). You will oversee day-to-day SQL Server operations, implement reliability improvements, and lead modernizations of AIMS applications using Python or a comparable stack.
You will document core operations, maintain runbooks, and serve as the technical point of contact to ensure delivery aligns with program needs, with a hybrid work arrangement at 255 Greenwich Street.
The Mayor’s Office of Management and Budget (OMB) is the City government's chief financial agency. OMB's staff of analysts and experts assembles and oversees the Mayor’s expense and capital budgets, which fund the services and activities of approximately 90 City agencies and entities.
The Asset Information Management System (AIMS) program is a Charter-mandated function that maintains the City’s capital plant inventory and condition information, along with agency maintenance schedules and cost estimates. This work is designed to create public accountability for keeping major City assets—from buildings to bridges to roads—in good repair, strengthening how NYC tracks, maintains, and invests in the assets our communities depend on every day.
You will be the technical owner for AIMS, responsible for both reliable day-to-day database operations and for application modernization. You'll serve as the administrator of the database, responsible for its database continuity, while also leading hands‑on development of new and updated tools.

Unit Head ($121,768): A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in computer science, software engineering, or a related field. A minimum of four years of relevant experience in database administration or software engineering, or a master's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
