Job summary

Boys and Girls Clubs of the Lowcountry in Hilton Head Island, SC seeks an Unit Director to lead a branch’s programs, staff, and daily operations, ensuring safe facilities and outcome-driven youth services.

You will oversee budgeting, staff development, community partnerships, fundraising events, and strategic planning, with a focus on youth achievement, family engagement, and high-quality programming. Evening, weekend, and holiday work may be required to meet club needs.

Qualifications

• Requires a four-year degree in a related field.
• Minimum 5+ years in a similar leadership role, preferably with youth development focus.
• Experience managing budgets and fundraising events.
• Proven ability to work with youth, parents, and community leaders.
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and public speaking skills.
• Strong strategic planning and organizational development background.
• Experience recruiting and retaining volunteers for large-scale programs.

Responsibilities

• Lead branch programs, activities and services to meet youth development goals.
• Maintain a safe, well-equipped facility and manage daily operations.
• Oversee budgeting, financial management, and resource allocation.
• Develop staff and volunteers; conduct regular meetings and training.
• Foster partnerships with parents, community leaders, and external organizations.
• Support public relations to promote programs and the Club’s visibility.
