Job summary

SSC Services For Education is hiring a Unit Director in Chicago, IL. You will oversee the cleanliness, sanitation, and security of designated buildings, directing janitorial staff and supervising supervisors and hourly employees to ensure customer satisfaction and safe operations.

You will assign duties, inspect work, address complaints, maintain equipment and inventory, and train staff while communicating directives from managers and building occupants effectively.

Qualifications

• Leadership experience in cleaning/maintenance or related field.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Understanding of budgeting and cost control.

Responsibilities

• Communicates between shifts to ensure completion of tasks.
• Trains workers in janitorial methods and proper equipment operation.
• Issues supplies and equipment to ensure timely delivery of services.
• Performs daily inspections and follows up on assignments.
• Cross trains and develops personnel for multiple positions.
• Holds weekly staff reports and inspections.
• Meets with staff weekly to review task completion and future projects.
• Secures building after completion of work.
• Guides completion on projects to meet deadlines and budgets.
• Reports budgetary issues.
