Massachusetts General Hospital is seeking a part-time Unit Coordinator for Blake 12 ICU. This role provides administrative support, coordinates patient flow with nursing, and facilitates admissions, discharges and transfers in a busy inpatient unit.

You will handle confidential information, use EMR systems, and collaborate with clinicians to ensure smooth patient care and exceptional service at the central nursing station.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clerical and administrative support at the unit desk.
  • Greet patients, families and staff professionally in person and by phone.
  • Coordinate patient admissions, discharges and transfers with nursing.
  • Enter admissions/discharges/transfers accurately into EMR.
  • Coordinate with ancillary services for equipment and supplies.

Expected to effectively organize priorities, complete tasks on time and to manage confidential patient information. Responsible for partnering with nursing to coordinate the day-to-day patient flow including communication to key players regarding patient admissions, discharges and transfers.
