Job summary

Albany Med is seeking a Unit Coordinator for the Short Stay Surgical unit, working a Day shift in the United States. The role combines customer service, clerical tasks, and coordination of unit operations to ensure efficient patient care delivery.

You will handle patient records, use Epic and other systems, greet visitors, and support admissions, discharges, and transfers while maintaining professional etiquette in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate's degree preferred.
• 1–3 years of healthcare or clerical experience required.
• Ability to coordinate and work as a team with various disciplines.
• Effective communication with internal and external customers; follow-up actions.

Responsibilities

• Assemble/maintain patient records and obtain reports for departmental operations.
• Greet and assist visitors courteously.
• Use clinical and patient information systems to support patient care.
• Coordinate department communications; screen calls appropriately.
• Assist in orientation of new administrative support staff.
