Job summary

South Texas Health System is seeking a Nursing Assistant to provide safe, patient-centered care under the supervision of a registered nurse. You will work as part of the Nursing Team on the assigned unit and uphold Service Excellence across all patient and staff interactions.

Qualifications include CNA or MA credentials, or active enrollment in an approved nursing program, with BLS and de-escalation training as required. High school diploma or GED is preferred, and candidates must be over 18.

• Must successfully pass any pre-employment assessment(s) required by the facility.
• Must possess one of the following: CNA certificate and/or a certificate of completion of a CNA program and/or PCT certificate; Medical Assistant certificate and/or a certificate of a MA program; Current enrollment in an LVN, ADN or BSN accredited school of nursing with successful completion of first semester at a minimum; BLS upon hire and remain current thereafter; De-escalation class within first year of hire as required by site based on specialty unit and job function; Must be > 18 years of age by the date of hire.
