Job summary

Ghent Health and Rehab of Norfolk is seeking a qualified Unit Clerk to join our team. The role requires strong organization, communication, and interpersonal skills, with experience in Long Term Care Facility scheduling.

You will manage medical records, daily census, and admissions/discharges, while coordinating with nursing and administrative staff to ensure smooth operations. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, compassionate, and capable of handling multiple tasks in a dynamic

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent (required).
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Long Term Care Facility Scheduling experience.
• Must have two (2) years' experience in similar position.

Responsibilities

• Record medical and administrative information per charting policies.
• Maintain the Daily Census Report and submit to Nurse Supervisor/Charge Nurse.
• Maintain an up-to-date roster of residents for your assigned unit.
• Answer telephone, page calls; deliver messages to residents.
• Maintain a current listing of emergency phone numbers for your assigned unit.
• Forward completed charts of discharged residents to Medical Records/Health Information Department.
