Ten Broeck Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing in Kingston, NY is seeking a Unit Clerk for our sub-acute rehab unit. The role requires a positive attitude and a commitment to caring, with duties spanning clerical coordination and interdepartmental collaboration.

Under supervision, you will coordinate admissions, transfers, and discharges while ensuring medical records are complete and compliant. The position offers a Monday–Friday schedule with compensation between $16 and $18 per hour.

Qualifications

• Experience as a unit clerk or clerical coordinator in a healthcare setting is preferred.
• Strong communication with Admissions, Discharge Planner and nursing staff.
• Ability to maintain accurate medical records and coordinate paperwork.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and coordinates clerical management for one or more resident units.
• Coordinates with housekeeping and maintenance to keep unit safe and functional.
• Maintains contact with Admissions, Discharge Planner and RN/LPN to coordinate admissions/transfers/discharges.
• Ensures medical records are complete and maintained per policy.
• Checks charts, prepares paperwork for procedures and appointments.
• Greets residents, visitors and staff, providing nonprofessional information as needed.

Job Summary

Supervises and coordinates clerical management functions for one or more resident/patient care units. Coordinates with other departments, such as housekeeping and maintenance, to maintain a unit that is hygienically safe and functional. Maintains close contact with Admissions, Discharge Planner, and RN Unit Manager/LPN Charge nurse and helps coordinate the execution of admissions, transfers, discharges, and other services. Ensures that the medical record is complete, culled, and maintained on the unit in accordance with established medical records policies and procedures. Checks charts, coordinates and prepares paperwork of residents/patients scheduled for procedures out of the facility, appointments in and out of the facility. Greets directs and gives nonprofessional factual information to residents/patients, visitors, and personnel from other departments.
