  • Ability to concentrate on fine detail with interruption, attend to tasks for more than 60 minutes at a time, attend to multiple tasks at the same time while maintaining accuracy.
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
  • Constantly utilizes/operates computer to access information
  • Ability to communicate to physicians and other hospital employees regarding requests for information

  • Verifies stock supplies and prepares requisitions to maintain established inventories.

Job Summary

The Unit Clerk acts as a receptionist, communicating using good customer service skills with all persons. The Unit Clerk performs clerical duties and is also responsible for preparation and maintenance of the patient's chart including order transcription. Maintaining confidentiality and accuracy of patient records is an extremely important aspect of this position.
