Job summary

MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center is seeking a Nursing Educator/Coordinator dedicated to enhancing patient care through comprehensive orientation, ongoing education, and competency validation. The role blends direct patient care with unit-based education, approximately 50/50, across the nursing team.

You will collaborate with the director and preceptors to implement department education plans, manage education records, and support educational outcomes for liaison meetings and shared governance

Qualifications

• RN licensure in Iowa (or multi-state) required.
• BSN required or completed within 5 years.
• Certification in area of practice (CCR N) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and facilitates orientation activities with preceptor and leaders.
• Provides educational and clinical experiences for colleagues to develop skills.
• Serves as validator/trainer for annual competencies and standard work.
• Maintains unit-based education records.
• Assists in developing education plans with department leadership.
• Ensures outcomes of liaison meetings and nursing governance councils are completed.
