Job summary

Johns Hopkins Medicine is seeking a Unit Associate I for the Myer 3 unit on a limited day shift (24 hours). The role involves stocking Pyxis and supply carts, checking expiration dates, and ensuring patient rooms stay stocked with necessary supplies and linens.

You will work closely with nurses and the unit coordinator in a fast-paced healthcare setting. Qualified candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent and strong interpersonal communication skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to identify clinical and environmental emergencies and follow procedures.
• Knowledge of hospital equipment, supplies and procedures (highly preferred).
• Strong interpersonal communication with staff, patients and visitors.
• General office tasks and basic computer skills (keyboarding, Windows).

Responsibilities

• Stock items to Pyxis and supply carts.

Unit Associate I - Myer 3

Limited - Day shift - 24 hours

The Unit Associate is responsible for a wide variety of tasks that help to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of healthcare services to our patients. This is a fast-paced position where the associate will be required to work in collaboration with Nurses and the Unit Coordinator. Daily tasks include stocking items to Pyxis and supply carts, monitoring expiration dates on items, ensuring that patient rooms are properly stocked with supplies and linens, restocking supply rooms, maintaining a clean work environment and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to identify clinical and environmental emergency/ urgent situations and to follow established procedures
• Knowledge of and familiarity with hospital equipment, supplied and procedures (highly preferred)
• Highly effective interpersonal communication skills to interact with inter-professional staff, patients, families, visitors and other hospital employees
• General office, communication equipment, cleaning equipment, knowledge of keyboarding and basic Windows applications.

Salary Range:

Minimum 17.34/hour - Maximum 20.12/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
