Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Amarillo seeks a Unit Assistant Director – Reference Librarian AMA to lead library operations and empower staff. You will assist the Unit Associate Director and Executive Director, coordinate public services, and serve as liaison to clinical and academic departments across West Texas.

The role emphasizes evidence-based discovery, interprofessional collaboration, and outreach to healthcare professionals. ALA-accredited master's is required.

Qualifications

• Master's degree from an American Library Association accredited institution plus supervisory experience or an equivalent combination totaling eight years.
• At least three years of experience in a health sciences library environment, with two years of supervisory experience preferred.
• Skilled in research strategy and health informatics databases searching.
• Public speaking and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Assists Unit Associate Director and Executive Director of Libraries in administration of library services.
• Manages public services staff and resources as required for daily library operation.
• Executes duties required for reference librarianship and public services, namely answering patron questions, supporting institutional outreach, serving as a liaison to select clinical and academic departments.
