Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or transcript showing completion of at least the sophomore level of high school.
• At least 1 year of experience as nursing assistant, patient care technician, or unit assistant; nursing students who have completed Foundations of Nursing are eligible.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and report basic patient data (vital signs, weight, skin condition, and urine/stool) as directed.
• Monitor fluids intake and output and document accordingly.
• Identify and report physical or mental status changes to licensed staff.
• Organize patient care and set priorities based on orders within time frames.
• Explain procedures to patients before starting care and assist with mobilization as needed.
• Record patient data accurately and communicate with supervisory staff.
