Job summary

AFL-CIO Fellowship Lawyer in the Legal Department is a one-year fellowship beginning in September 2027. Based in Washington, DC, the Fellow will work with experienced union-side lawyers on a wide range of litigation, policy, regulatory, and legislative matters affecting workers’ rights.

Recent law school graduates are encouraged to apply. Excellent legal research and writing skills, and a commitment to workers’ rights, are essential to success in this role.

• Work with AFL-CIO Legal Department and union-side attorneys on diverse matters.

• Participate in Union Lawyers Alliance activities and attorney conferences.
