Job summary

SEIU invites applications for the Norm Gleichman Law Fellowship, two open positions beginning in September 2027 in Washington, DC. Fellows will gain broad experience in labor and employment law within SEIU’s Legal Department and work on cutting-edge issues advancing workers’ interests.

The fellowship offers exposure to litigation, NLRB matters, amicus briefs, and legislative and policy initiatives, with mentorship from seasoned union-side attorneys.

Qualifications

• Excellent research and writing skills.
• Demonstrated commitment to workers’ rights.
• Interest in practicing union-side labor law.

Responsibilities

• Litigation to enforce labor rights for union members.
• Draft amicus briefs for NLRB and appellate courts.
• Advise staff organizers on organizing campaigns and policy initiatives.
• Support SEIU’s political program and labor law matters.
