Job summary

The Gleichman Law Fellow program within the Service Employees International Union's Legal Department in Washington, DC offers recent law graduates exposure to union-side litigation and policy work.

Starting in September 2027, fellows will engage in litigation, NLRB matters, amicus briefs, and campaigns, gaining mentorship from experienced labor attorneys and supporting workers' rights. SEIU provides comprehensive health benefits, a 401(K) plan, holidays, and competitive salaries.

• Demonstrated commitment to workers’ rights.
• Interest in union-side labor law.

Responsibilities

• Litigation to enforce the labor rights of union members.
• Handle matters before the National Labor Relations Board.
• Draft amicus briefs in support of workers’ rights before the NLRB and appellate courts.
• Advice and assistance to staff organizers on organizing campaigns.
• Involvement in policy and legislative initiatives.
• Participation in SEIU’s political program.
